Moong Dal Halwa Recipe

Ingredients
- 1 cup yellow moong dal
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup ghee
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup water
- 1/4teaspoon cardamom powder
- 10 -12 almonds and cashews (chopped)
- few raisins
- Saffron stands ( optional)
Instructions
- Wash and soak moong dal for 4-5 hours. Drain the water and grind it into a paste.
- Heat ghee in a heavy pan and add the moong dal paste. roast on medium flame while stirring continuously.
- Cook until the dal turns golden brown and releases a rich nutty aroma. This step takes around 20-25 minutes.
- In another pan, heat milk and water together. Slowly add this mixture to the roasted dal carefully.
- Stir well and cook until the liquid is absorbed completely.
- Add sugar, cardamom powder, and saffron. Mix properly and cook for another 5-7 minutes.
- Garnish with chopped dry fruits and raisins. Serve hot.
