Dal makhni is a rich and creamy Indian dish made with black urad dal and butter

INGREDIENTS

1 Cup whole urad dal

2 tbsp kidney beans (rajma)

3 tbsp butter

2 onion finely copped

2 tomatoes

1 tbsp ginger -garlic

1 teaspoon chilli powder

1tsp cumin seeds

1 tsp turmeric powder

salt ( as per taste)

half tsp garam masala

2 tbsp fresh cream

coriander leaves

RECIPE

  1. Soak dal and rajma overnight.
  2. In the morning , firstly wash the chana dal and put all three dals in a pressure cooker add with salt and 1 spoon desi ghee.
  3. Heat pan with butter and oil , add jeera.
  4. Add chopped onions lightly fry till golden.
  5. Add ginger and garlic paste cook for 1-2 minutes.
  6. Add tomato with turmeric, salt and red chili powder, cook till oil separates.
  7. Add boiled dal and rajma , mix well.
  8. Let it slow cook for 20 – 30 minutes.
  9. Add fresh cream and add garam masala .
  10. Garnish with coriander and a little butter on top.
